Experience

Karen the Carpenter

Karen Gustafson

I started out as an apprentice carpenter in 1982 and became self employed specializing in renovations in the Toronto area from 1984—1990. In 1990 I escaped the big city life and headed to the Haliburton Highlands where I began building Log Homes with a local company.

Township Building Inspector to Home Sales Professional

From 1993 –1999 I took on a Township Building Inspection job. In Spring 1999 I moved on to the sale of custom home packages in Minden, Dorset and surrounding areas. Since then I have designed and arranged for the delivery and finishing of over 100 custom homes and cottages to different stages of completion depending on customer needs.

Close to 30 years of Hands on Experience

I have seen construction from all angles over the last 27 years and after a decade of designing custom homes with ICF basements I have come up with my own ideas based on all the things I have learned. I have made numerous connections in the construction industry and have developed working relationships with different contractors and the individual trades. We can finish your new home or cottage to any level of completion, be it to the shell stage including rough-in plumbing, electrical and heating or fully Turn-key. Over the years I have earned a excellent reputation and have many happy customers to show for it.

Let’s Work Together

I will work with you to guide you, to get your home or cottage finished within your budget by contractors I have learned to trust over the years to take care of my customers. All are reliable insured contractors. I’ve come along way since 1982, and over the years I have see a lot of builders and trades people some good and some not so good. All my experiences have led me to branch out and offer you the benefit of my knowledge on more of an individual basis to help steer you in the right direction and work with you to build your dream.
